entry#11 Endless Possibilities

I was never really was into blogging or reading blogs  at all, whenever someone mentioned something about blogs I always thought about a personal blog for some reason.  In class the instructor said we were going to do blogs, and I wasn’t really happy with that since I found it boring, but as I created my own blogs and commented on others I found the blog project to be interesting. I did enjoy blogging because it was a good alternative to essays and we got to choose whatever topic we wanted on the self-generated blogs.  One benefit of blogging is that you did not have to write more essays, not only that but you got feedback from the instructor and he gave you pointers on what you should do next time. I really liked about the blog project is you had the option to comment on other blogs and sometimes it would get ideas for my next writing project, in addition  to that I got to include images and videos that related to my topic, which made it more appealing. As I read through several blogs I did learn some things like Bruce lee kicks were so fast while filming that producers had to slow down the shoot, I know that has nothing to do with school, but it was a fun fact I didn’t know and that what the blog project is all about. One thing I would suggest to be a successful blogger is to think about your audience and what you want to say. Do not just state your opinion, because than it would be too personal and include rhetoric. Really analyze your blog and information to make it good and add appealing images and titles. Over all I really enjoyed the blogging project it was a fun way to learn something new.

Enrty#10 $ex $ells

One of the most popular music genres among young people is rap and hip hop. Today music has changed dramatically and it is all portraying sex and drugs. As we all know nowadays music seems to be all the same, it is true that it may sound good; but what are the lyrics really saying? Currently in today’s music every single rap songs talks about either selling drugs, taking drugs, drinking, and having countless women to sleep with.  Nowadays it seems like these kind of songs are the most popular. We have artist like Future and Migos that seem to rap words we cannot understand, but we seem to like it. Honestly the music these artist create are catchy but the lyrics are just horrible. Even artists that use to be good like Lil Wayne  has now hoped on the band wagon, and now his music consists of popping bottles, doing drugs,   and having ho*s.  Although some of the rap music in the earlier days did talk about that a lot of them had meaning like Tupac’s music. He rapped about his struggles in life and how he got through them. Today music is not like that anymore it seems like all we want to hear is the same stuff over and over again.   We no longer hear about an artist struggles anymore and they are constantly rapping about their “success” through big mansions, shiny jewelry, and fancy cars.  Today it seems like all you need to be successful in a rap career is a cool beat and a smooth way to say you got money and women.

Entry #9 Second to Last

If someone would to ask me what media is, I automatically think about social media. When we talked about it in class I realized that media is a general term and it can mean several different things.  Media can mean social media, media outlets like news, and even the devices we use to view all that like smart phones. I never really paid much attention to the news because I found it boring, but when we talked about slanted reporting I made me wonder if all news outlets used that kind of reporting. I know for a fact that fox news used it a lot to bring in more views I even made a blog about the report. I even noticed that we are way too dependent on the devices we use like our smart phones. It is true that they are convenient, but I’m noticing that everyone is constantly on their phone during communication. Media is now a big part of our lives we get so much information from it that it sculpts the way we think.  Television and social websites are dominated by the younger crowd and I am noticing that there a very bad influences on media.  We have rappers that are constantly bombarding us with foul images, we have news broadcast that are slanted, and we can escape reality through media. Media has always had an impact on all of us, but we need to be aware of what we are viewing and the way we are thinking.
