Entry#7 Man Up
Dumb men the tile
says it all. This website shows numerous commercials about how men are “dumb”.
Most consists of over excited men that do things for no reason. Everyone likes
short funny clips, but too much of them and it starts to get boring. The setup
is nice, because it is very simple to choose what video you want to watch; in addition
to that I like that there are descriptions about the videos so it is more understandable. I noticed that this blog is more of a comedy
style. All of the videos that are being shown are a little funny. With all this
visual content the blogger seems to illustrate how men can be dumb in any scenario.
Over
all it’s a pretty good blog, but it is kind of boring because there are too
much videos.
One of the video
clips that caught my attention was the one that was titled “ Miller lite Skirt
Wearin” . This specific video was interesting because there is some truth
behind this. Typically we have developed
an idea that men are supposed to drink beer instead of fruity alcoholic drinks,
and this video perfectly portrays that. As you notice the bartender insults the
customer by handing him a light beer and she also comments that he should take
off his “skirt” when he starts caring. At the end of the video he goes up to
his buddies with a Miller Lite in his hand and states he lost his skirt by
choosing that specific alcoholic beverage. It seems like the audience is
intended for men who like beer. It is a beer commercial and the purpose of this
clip is to inform that Miller Lite is for men. The beer commercial is well
executed because it gives its message across in a comedic way. You have both
genders in this commercial but one insults the other, and by drinking that
beverage it says that it makes you manlier.

entry#6 Its all About the Kicks
In the United States the sneaker
culture has evolved into a profit organization. We all wear sneakers, but some
of us care what we wear on our feet. As long as I can remember the brand Nike
has always excelled in the industry, but is it because the styles they produce
are eye catching or is it just the hype? There have been other brands before
Nike has been introduced but it was not till the famous basketball player
Michael Jordan wore Nikes and gave the audience a whole new outlook on
sneakers. Since he was an amazing player everyone knew who he was and he was
all over T.V. His career leads him into creating his signature shoe which we
can refer to as “j’s” in other words Jordan’s. These types of sneakers are a part of Nike and
because of that so many people are aware of the value these hold. To get a
better understanding the only Jordan’s people actually like are the “retro’s”
which are shoes Michael Jordan wore during his peak of his career. They offer a
sporty look while looking futuristic and sleek, but since they were introduced
to the public every single pair was sold instantly. The company noticed how
quickly they sold and realized what kind of money it can bring in. To make it
more profitable these sneakers were only produced in certain numbers and
release dates were announced. People were also aware there was a market for
these and it brought in all types of “sneaker heads”. Sneaker heads are those
people who have a passion for sneakers; they spend hundreds of dollars on
limited sneakers and always keep them clean. Along with sneaker heads came
resellers, which pretty much ruined the whole shoe game. The sneakers alone are
already limited, but with resellers they have come up with a way to charge any
price they want knowing people will buy the shoes. Initially the sneaker range about $150-180
which is reasonable considering that they are in fact “fresh”. Personally I use
to love them and owned a good amount, but the more people knew they could make
a big profit the more prices sky rocket. People make it seem like these shoes
are like diamonds, which can lead to trouble. The hype was so big on these
sneakers that it ended up causing riots and even death! Don’t get me wrong they
are nice, but not nice enough to rob someone or even hurt someone for them. As
humans we should not create so much hype about these shoes, because that ends
up bringing up prices. A lot of us want to just go into a sneaker shop and be
able to purchase them with no trouble, but with all these resellers and sneaker
heads it’s pretty much impossible.
entry #5 College life
College and universities are all about good grades, degrees,
and saving money. As we all know furthering our education beyond high school
can get heavy on the pocket. Most of us are aware how the semesters are broken
down, although some classes start earlier or later than others typically we all
work around the same time period (semester). As we enter college life a lot of
us will experience stress, and of course lack of sleep. Some people go to college without knowing what
career they want to pursue, but eventually throughout the courses they take it
gets easier to decide. Most of us know what kind of profession we want and ,are
aware what kind of programs are offered in order to obtain a certain
degree. We all want to get something out
of our college experience weather it’s a
degree, certificate, or just more
knowledge on a certain subject, but we all must do work in order to learn
something new. We all learn differently and at a different pace. By allowing
classes to be around seven and a half weeks long in a university it can benefit
some students. First of all it allows students to finish their courses much
faster, for those who do not want the whole fifteen week semester this may be a
good solution. Since the course will be shorter this means a faster pace, and
the work load will be the same just condensed into a much shorter time period.
Although the intentions for these kind of classed are intended for fast paced
students, some may need more time. I guess it really depends on what kind of
class you take. Science classes usually require a good amount of studying and
practice in order to succeed in those types of courses. Other classes just
require completing modules to finish the course like a math class. It really
depends on what kind of classes work with your schedule. Weather we want a fast
paced course or the usual fifteen week course it all depends what you are
capable to achieve.

Entry#4 Hear this!
Music has always been around as long
as humans existed. Throughout the years music has also been very different depending
on where you live and the people you are surrounded with. In some parts music
is made with natural sounds like hand clapping, stopping and singing, but in
other places music is made with instruments and electronic devices. We all like
music no matter where we are from, but a lot of us do not get to experience what
electronic dance music offers (edm). Imagine a beat that is fast paced, loud,
and addicting, that is what EDM is all about
For those who are new to this genre
it is pretty much like a mixture between techno and house music, a lot of these
songs do not have lyrics but when they do, believe me you will like them!. I
guess you can compare the songs to a roller coaster. At first it starts off
slow and steady, then it starts getting higher and more exciting, finally once
you hit the top there is a moment where you know it’s going to drop and then “boom!”
you feel your heart is about to jump out of your chest. At first when people
get introduced to Edm a lot say it is just a bunch of loud beats, but with the
right song you can get them to fall in love with it, because not all edm is
good. If you want to get the full experience the best thing to do is go to edc
which is an electronic dance festival, although it can get pricey every penny
is worth it not to mention it’s “21+” event. With the right vibes and a good
song I would say everyone will end up enjoying this type of music.

Entry #3 Just why??
In today’s world a majority of news cast no longer
report the actual story they are to cover. In order to bring in more views the
newscast must have dramatic footage or “shocking” evidence. Let’s be honest actual
facts can be somewhat boring, but with a little “twist” and a couple of visuals
the story will now become eye catching. Just like movies you need to show the
best clips in order to bring in a big audience, but news cast are now using
this strategy to make their station number one. It is like they are trying to
sale their stories by broadcasting slanted reports. It seems like the news now
follow the saying of “give the people what they want” and that is exactly what
they are doing. These types of reports are called “slanted report”. Although it might sound harsh people don’t really
care about issues around the world as long as it does not affect them they can
care less. They have become aware that some people may notice that they are “twisting”
the actual story, but they are smart enough to add just enough to make it seem
like they did not add in anything extra.
Here is an example of a slanted report. Although
the footage is short you clearly see the change of the story. In the first few
seconds you can tell that the news was reporting about a teen that got ran over
or something related to that but as they are reporting something interesting happens.
The footage shows a teenage girl trying to cross what seems to be a four way stop,
and as she is trying to cross a car slowly drives in front of her. Now at that
point the local news takes the advantage of the footage and tries to make it
seem more dramatic than it really is. The
report was supposed to be about an accident, but as you see the one covering
the cast says” as the cameras were rolling another teen was nearly got hit”. They
tried to put spice into this, but the video is there and the girl was not even
close to being hit, but I must admit the voice does make it seem like she
almost did, but she did not. What makes it more interesting is as she backs up
and trips over the curb and with the quickness the reported added the comment “she
was so shaken up that she collapsed” now is that what really happened? Well not
necessarily, as you can see in the video she fell because of the curb and not because
she was shaken up. It’s a little bit
funny how they added all these extra things to make it more exciting, but this
can change the
audience perspective of the story. With this footage and comment I can see how
the views will increase. This shows how easy it is to make a slanted report and
with a few seconds they managed to report something normal to a “more interesting” report.

entry#2 All about the Stangs
At
birth males grow up with a certain mindset that our parents plant on our brain.
As toddlers the very first thing we get to entertain us is a toy car. It is
said that a human’s knowledge best develops at the early stages of childhood
which is 6-15 months. Within those years
we usually are kept entertain with toys and ever since I can remember I have
been around with toy cars. One of the types of cars that has always caught my
attention was the Ford mustang. This car is a classic American car which offers
power and sleek looks. Throughout the years it has been known for its powerful
engine and its aggressive stance. For the mustang lovers the majority of us can
agree that one of the best looking mustangs was the cobra. At a whopping 390
horse power the mustang will give you a good scare if you reach the high RPM
range. It’s a fantastic car to tease
those Honda lovers (ricers). The mustang has grown on me and I know am a proud
owner of one. No matter if you have a v6
or a v8 mustang, there is always the option of making it faster! Making your
mustang faster is always fun but it can be pricey, although every penny is
worth it. The cheapest way to make it faster is to add a cold air intake. Initially it will not add a lot of horse power
but you will notice a difference. Over all mustangs are a great sporty cars
that offer aggressive looks and most importantly horsepower.

Entry #1 Blogging inventory
In order to be
informed about a certain topic we must read. Our way of getting knowledge
consists of research, and analyzing what we just read. A good amount of us do not like to read, because
the material is either too long, or just plain out boring. Blogs can be a
helpful tool to get information about something you like or something your
curios about. I don’t know much about
blogs because I rarely use them but what I can tell you is they are way more interesting
than a book or an article, because the information you are receiving is interesting
and it brings the main points together in a more condensed way. For example a
blog about cars can give you information about how to improve the performance
about your car by linking you to a video, or a list or certain performance
part; on the other hand a book about car performance can go into depth about
how cars work and get all “scientific” like combustion and the formula for
power like torque. In my experience not
much people are interested in blogs because popular social media does not
really mention them, but I believe once you start searching more blogs you are interested
about it will start getting more into them. I have barley used blogs are a tool
to do research but as I got introduced to them, and got to research numerous blogs,
I find that reading doesn’t always have to be something you have to do. It takes
a lot to influence people but with the right amount of information, and media
tools like videos, and music it can easily turn influential. Blogs do not influence
me, but I do believe they are more interesting since I got to examine numerous
amounts of different blogs.
One blog I find to
be really interesting is blog named “ Iron Addict”, the title is a dead giveaway
that this blog is about weight lifting. I
really like this blog because it has all the things I enjoy reading about which
is gaining muscle. It has all the elements that are interesting such as photos,
motivational videos, work out routines, and personal experience from the famous
iron addict CT Fletcher. I am not going to lie I am not the most fit guy but
ever since I have been introduced to CT it gave me motivation to grow. This
blog is an excellent source to grow muscle because you get professional advise
as well as visual presentation of workouts.
Blogs are created
for a specific audience, and one of the blogs I did not like at all was
HuffPost Politics. This blog is not appealing to me because all it talks about
is politics, and different kinds of laws and the U.S senate. I am considered as
an adult but I have never been interested in politics, although I should be
aware of problems we have in the United States, I find no interest in them.
This blog does contain images and some video sources, but it’s all boring to
me.

practice
Hello everyone my name is Moises Quebrado and i am 21 years of age. The reason why i am taking this class is because it is required in my check sheet. I am very familiar with hybrid classes, because i have taken one before.I find that hybrid classes especially English courses seem to be easier. My goals for attending GCC to obtain my associates in applied science. This will be my first semester working towards that goal. I did change my major because i did not like what is was studying before which was nursing. One of my hobbies is bowling. Although a lot of people might find that boring i really enjoy it. I also enjoy hanging out with friends, even though it seems like all of them are having kids, I still enjoy being with them.
